June has been a slow month for new shooting, but a rich one for revisiting the archives. I've been digitizing film rolls from 2006–2007 — a period I shot almost exclusively on a Nikon D50 before I really understood what I was doing. Looking back at those frames now, I'm surprised by how much I got right by accident, and equally surprised by how many I'd do completely differently today. The Chicago long-exposure work in particular has been on my mind. There's something about returning to a place you know well and seeing it through the eyes of someone much younger. I'm planning a return shoot this fall and curious to see how the two bodies of work speak to each other. Thanks for being here.
